Mersin Agropark Projects
Mersin Agropark is a new-generation agricultural hub where scientific production meets sectoral collaborations. As part of this vision, MBA Tarım focuses its R&D infrastructure here on local genetic resources in blueberry production, working on plant adaptation as well as breeding studies aimed at improving resistance to diseases.
At the same time, we develop joint projects with technology companies on sensor-based monitoring systems, plant growth optimization, and precision irrigation algorithms.
Our goal is not only to produce crops but also to produce knowledge, creating an agriculture that generates information as well as harvests.
Goal of Domestic Agricultural Technologies
In the global agricultural market, the decisive factor in competition is no longer the land, but technology.
With this awareness, we are determined to develop agricultural technologies unique to Türkiye, free from dependency on imported systems.
Our goal is to develop modules that can be used not only in greenhouses but also in open-field farming, focusing on economic and climate-oriented systems. In this context, we lead projects such as domestic sensor production, plant data processing software, and mobile-based producer support platforms.
MBA Tarım aims to establish a production model that will export technology.
Research Plans Divided into Phases
We conduct our R&D investments not randomly, but through strategically planned phases.
- Phase 1: Genetic compatibility and climate adaptation studies
- Phase 2: Yield optimization and integration of digital monitoring systems
- Phase 3: Commercialization, domestic technology patent processes, and product innovation
Each phase builds upon the findings of the previous one, creating a research architecture that is interconnected and mutually reinforcing. Throughout the process, collaborations with universities, technoparks, and the private sector ensure that results are effectively transferred to the field.
